Silverstein is celebrating 15 years of their debut album When Broken Is Easily Fixed with an extensive U.S. tour that kicked off at The Majestic here in Detroit last week. The throwback set was enhanced with direct support from Hawthorne Heights.

The album artwork was draped behind the band as they broke into the albums opening track “Smashed into Pieces.” The band was full of smiles on stage as the crowd sang back almost every word.

As they played through the album, vocalist Shane Told was full of energy. Told bounced around the stage, throwing the mic around, never missing a beat.

Their set didn’t come to an end after “Forever and a Day.” Silverstein performed another set of their greatest hits. This included a live debut of “California” off of their 2013 album This is How the Wind Shifts: Addendum.

The encore was acoustic, with an emotional rendition of “My Heroine” followed by “Aquamarine” in which the whole band joined in to finish.

Hawthorne Heights were a perfect direct support, announcing “we’re baaaack” on stage with a banner reading “I used to listen to Hawthorne Heights in high school.”

They opened their set with “This is Who We Are” off of their 2010 album Midwesterners. The band included a wide variety of their discography in their set including songs off of their most recent album, Bad Frequencies such as “Just Another Ghost.”

After reminiscing on times they had played in Detroit before, the band broke into “Ohio is for Lovers” and the crowd went crazy, singing along with vocalist J.T. Woodruff.

It was also Fearless records latest addition, Captstan‘s hometown show. Vocalist Anthony DeMario and guitarist Andrew Bozymowski are both from the metro Detroit area. The band was full of excitement, as family and friends were in the crowd. Their set included a live debut of their new song “Stars Before the Sun.”

As Cities Burn followed Capstan’s high energy with their own, opening their set with “’84 Sheepdog.”

The tour continues through January. You can find additional tour dates here.
