2019 Mo Pop Festival lineup announced

The long awaited Mo Pop lineup announcement came from organizers Tuesday for the summer 2019 festivities. Tame Impala and Vampire Weekend are set to be the headliners for the festival, in its seventh year.

Both headliners are notable due to Vampire Weekend’s hiatus and Tame Impala’s last show in Detroit was four years ago. Other acts include King Princess, Ella Mai, Lizzo, Alec Benjamin and The Story So Far.

Local artists joining the lineup include Sienna Liggins, Craig Brown Band, The Doozers and The Messenger Birds.

Mo Pop started in 2013 at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights before moving to the West Riverfront Park in 2015. The festival boasts a completely unique lineup from the previous year and has never repeated a performer.

The festival also includes local food vendors and interactive actives for attendees. The Mo Arcade is the festivals collaboration with Offworld Arcade that results in an air conditioned tent filled with classic arcade games.

The craft bazaar also features handmade goods from metro Detroit artists.

Tickets go on sale Friday March 8 at 10 am and the full list of performers can be seen on the Mo Pop website.
