All Time Low has transcended through years of pop punk music to their latest more pop heavy release The Last Young Renegade. Since then, the band has released two singles, “Birthday” and “Everything Is Fine” which follow the same tone.

Following their special stop on the final runs of Vans Warped Tour, All Time Low is co-headlining the Summer Ever After Tour with Dashboard Confessional. Along for support is pop artist Gnash.

The sweltering weather did not limit fans from lining up outside the venue early, whether to partake in the special Hustler Club meet and great or in hopes of getting front row.

Garrett Charles Nash, otherwise known as Gnash quickly grew to fame after the release of “i hate u, i love u” featuring Olivia O’Brien. His set was the perfect energy to the start the evening, quickly gaining interaction from the crowd as everyone bounced and sang along to his catchy pop beats.

A few days before it’s official debut, he gave the crowd a preview of his latest track “Dear Insecurity”, explaining that the song is actually one of his journal entries. For a surprise, he included a cover of Blink 182’s “I Miss You”.

Dashboard Confessional opened their set with “Vindicated” off of their 2007 album, Dusk and Summer. Front man Chris Carrabba cracked jokes and let his humble personality shine on stage. After “Stolen”, the band covered “Say It Ain’t So”, a tribute to their first tour in support of Weezer.

The band included old time favorite “Saints and Sailors” off of their 2001 album The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most. In addition, the band included recent work such as “We Fight” and “Heart Beat Here” as well as their 2018 single “KindaYeahSorta”.

Finally, All Time Low took the stage to a roar of applause from the venue. Girls waved homemade signs in the air. The presence of the All Time Low fandom is always very strong, and Detroit’s date was nothing less than expected.

The band opened with “Damned If I Do You (Damned If I Don’t)”. Alex Gaskarth was full of smiles and energy on stage, and could hardly be heard over the sound of fans singing along. Confetti rained over the crowd.

They quickly continued into one of their most recent singles, “Everything is Fine”. During “Stella”, girls began to fling their bras up to the stage, where Jack Barakat hung them from his mic stand.

Their set was not Last Young Renegade heavy, only playing three songs, including “Dark Side of Your Room” and “Life of the Party”.

Gaskarth took the stage to acoustically open “Therapy”, during which the crowd glowed with cell phone lights. Fans sang along with the emotion heavy song, creating an intimate atmosphere in the room.

“Good Times”, easily one of the most successful singles off of Last Young Renegade, brought a surprise when Chris Carrabba joined the band on stage.

Afterwords, the encore ensued after chants of “All Time Low” from the crowd. The band kicked off the three song encore with “Birthday”. After “Lost in Stereo” Gaskarth and Barakat’s witty banter increased the anticipation in the crowd for the song they had been waiting for.

Confetti spewed across the venue as the band broke into their most iconic song, “Dear Maria, Count Me In”. It seemed as if everyone in the venue was singing along to the emo anthem.

The Summer Ever After Tour will continue through early October. Tickets and dates can be found here. Check out our gallery below!
