Wave Break release debut EP Armory

“We’re pop punk, but we’re also a bit emo, a bit pop, and a bit alternative. As far as a message, we want people to know that whatever the situation, with perseverance you can always come out on top.”

Boston based band Wave Break just released their debut EP Armory

The group was founded in 2017 by lead singer Kelly Barber, who is joined by Alex Orav (guitar), David Sachs (bass) and Mike Kolvek (drums). The term “wave break” is a metaphor for overcoming adversity. The band aims to do just that with their overarching theme of standing up to societal barriers in their work.

“We definitely want to establish ourselves as a hard-hitting band that doesn’t 100% adhere to genre lines. We’re pop punk, but we’re also a bit emo, a bit pop, and a bit alternative. As far as a message, we want people to know that whatever the situation, with perseverance you can always come out on top.”

The single “Plaster City” was released back in February. The empowering lyrics and Barber’s powerhouse vocals give the track solidity.

“Plaster City is a song that Kelly had written lyrics and chords to well before the band formed. When we put together the full lineup, we hashed out all the instrumental parts to it. We chose it as a single because it’s the most equally hard-hitting and catchy song on the record.”

Armory is available for streaming and purchase on all major distributors.
