Andy’s Room release B-side to ‘Parchment’ and new video

“The upcoming record is full of dynamics and sounds that range all sorts of influences and genres that we all love. These songs are our favorite songs we’ve ever written, and we can’t wait to finish recording them to share them.”
The success that the California four-piece found from their debut EP Yours Forever has given Andy’s Room room to grow. While creating their upcoming full length album, the quartet released three new songs and accompanying music videos, plus a b-side to one of the singles, to tide fans over.
Following up Yours Forever, Andy’s Room dropped singles “Parchment” and “400 Miles” showing stylistic growth from the band while still remaining true to their themes of relationships.
“Parchment” became such a strong song that the band chose to follow it up with an acoustic b-side release along with “Always You” in 2018.
“Any acoustic version of a song will bring out the lyrics, melody, and overall structure of a song, because of the missing elements that would be there in a full band version,” said Matt McCarthy, lead vocalist of Andy’s Room. “We all thought that “Parchment” is a song that deserved to be stripped down and re-explored in a new way.”
The four piece released the music video for “Always You” in January 2019, a compilation of tour footage from their 2018 Midwest tour. While the song and video don’t necessarily vibe, McCarthy says the band is “super proud of it” and that it has a sense of nostalgia.
“The inspiration for the “Always You” music video came from our love for touring and traveling to play music,” he said. “We really wanted to capture the lifestyle and the vibe of being on the road.”
Sticking to their emo indie-rock feel, McCarthy says that the album they’re working on sounds like a “natural progression of the band.”
“The upcoming record is full of dynamics and sounds that range all sorts of influences and genres that we all love,” he said. “These songs are our favorite songs we’ve ever written, and we can’t wait to finish recording them to share them.”
Right now, Andy’s Room doesn’t have any acoustic b-sides in the works as they’re trying to finish up the new record, but as McCarthy says, “never say never.”
“We are excited for fans to hear these new songs and to find meaning and get lost in the music.”
This spring, the band will be supporting Fever Came Calling on an acoustic tour. Dates and more information can be found on the band’s Facebook.
