Michigan based progressive alternative band Blank Slate headlined The Loving Touch last week, packing the venue with friends and family including support from Novara, The Doozers, and Leo Son and the Q Tip Bandits.
Boston natives Leo Son and the Q Tip Bandits are a indie/soul group that are definitely worth keeping an eye on. The band’s unique sound stuck with the audience right away, as everyone was dancing along with them. Keep up to date with the band here.
Being familiar with The Doozers high energy sets, I was not disappointed by their performance. This band has such a genuine feel about them, highlighted by the original stage artwork they bring on stage with them. The crowd’s energy matched what they brought to the stage as everyone continued dancing and laughing along with the band. Their EP School Store Promotions can be streamed on Spotify here.
Novara has recently been gaining attention via social media with the teasers of their new music. The performance of “Too Sweet” showcased vocalist Samantha Norman’s powerhouse vocals. The band recently released their new single “Missing Out” featuring dylAn.
The eclectic trio that is Hannah Boissonneault, Jon Vokal and Zach Murrell, come together to make what I can truly describe as beautiful sound. The band opened their set with “What’s Within Reach” off of their 2017 EP I Have Considered the Following. The band included a cover of The 1975’s “Sex” for a fun twist.
The little aestheticly pleasing elements the band included on stage helped emphasized the vibe that their music brings. The mason jars filled with twinkle lights surrounded by hydrangeas complimented the glow of Vokal’s Bad Cat amp perfectly.
I Have Considered the Following can be streamed here. Follow the band on Facebook for more updates.
