Machine Gun Kelly is in a bad spot after targeting Eminem in “Rap Devil” diss

Oh no, Machine Gun Kelly, what in the world were you thinking.

The Cleveland rapper decided that it was a good idea to release a diss track titled “Rap Devil” aimed at Eminem on Labor Day morning. The four-minute track is a response to a verse on Em’s recently released Kamikaze.

Marshall Mathers raps on “Not Alike”: “But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne if you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun. And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly. I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss, but keep commenting on my daughter Hailie…”

If you’ve been living under a rock for the last week…Eminem surprise released his tenth album on Friday morning, and essentially called out the entire rap-game, as well as it’s sorry state of affairs.

Ironically enough, another white rapper, G-Eazy, dissed MGK on the same exact day that Em’s record dropped, saying: “Your shots just graze me. I’m standing, they put a hole in me. I answer to no one, nobody can get control of me. MGK please stop trolling me, get over me.”

Must have been a weird day to be in MGK’s corner.

Machine Gun Kelly had to pick one of the two to respond to, and understandably he decided to test one of the greatest rappers of all time. A double-edged sword if you ask me. Kelly will get the notoriety for going at Eminem, but does he not know what happens when you cross Marshall Mathers? Just ask his ex-wife, or his mother, or Limp Bizkit, or Canibus, or Ja Rule, or Mariah Carey, or Insane Clown Posse, or Nick Cannon, or P. Diddy, or…okay, you get it.

None of those individuals came out the other end in a better situation than when it started.

So, let’s backtrack a little and see why Eminem is going after Machine Gun Kelly.

Yikes.

If you know anything about Eminem, you know about how important his relationship is with his daughter Hailie Jade Scott. Also, if my math serves correctly, in 2012, Scott would have been…sixteen years old. Double yikes.

This is one mistake that every rapper that has gone at Eminem has made, and it’s borderline Em’s fault to begin with. Making a multitude of songs, some being mega-hits, with Hailie as the subject, has left Scott as a large target when approaching a diss track against Mathers.

And as I said in my album review of Kamikaze, Eminem mutates into his true form, one of the greatest rappers alive, when provoked. Machine Gun Kelly may have opened a whole new can of worms by releasing what is being hailed as the most raw response that any artists has served up.

But I’m not sure what MGK knows what he’s gotten himself into. If the tweet from 2012 was enough for Em to fire a warning shot in Kelly’s direction, THIS is sure to provoke a response: “I think my dad’s gone crazy,” yeah Hailie you right. Dad’s always mad cooped up in the studio yelling at the mic.”

At the end of the verse MGK even decides to tell Eminem that he’s going to have sex with his estranged ex-wife. Triple yikes.

For what it’s worth, “Rap Devil” serves as a reminder that yes, Eminem can still get under the skin of other rappers, bury himself in the forefront of their psyche’s until a response is brewed and unleashed for Mathers to barge in and obliterate whatever is in sight. It’s only a matter of time.

All it takes is pure motivation and anger for the spark-plug, controversial rapper from Detroit to be fired out of the cannon. Machine Gun Kelly May have gone for the neck, but I have a feeling that Marshall Mathers, Slim Shady, Eminem…whatever you want to call him, will be aiming for the head.
