One of the Summer’s most thrilling and nostalgic tours going around is the package of Coheed and Cambria, Taking Back Sunday and The Story So Far. Coheed are out in support of their upcoming record release for their new album The Unheavenly Creatures- pressed to drop October 5th, 2018 via Roadrunner Records.  Taking Back Sunday were out to promote their incredible catalog of hits along with 2016 release, Tidal Wave, and The Story So Far were out to showcase new tracks from there up and coming 4th LP release, Proper Dose dropping September 21st via Pure Noise Records.

The Story So Far started the evening off with a positive apporach- at first, a band who came to the scene storming as a pop-punk band but has now (at least to me) since grown to cover ground in more of a rock sound and it sounds fantastic. Still touching back in their set with their hits they also threw in a cover of Led Zepplin’s “Black Dog” which sounded amazing. Providing the crowd with a small peak to their new release, Proper Dose dropping September 21st via Pure Noise, the band added their brand new single “Let It Go” and “Out of It”.

Taking Back Sunday stormed the stage in their typical fashion opening their set with “what’s it feel like to be a ghost” and the crowd near erupted. Lead singer Adam Lazzara excels in his position as the frontman for the energy in his performance adding signature mic swings and comedic interactions with the crowd between songs made what an already amazing set even more enjoyable. Through touching back with their roots with jamming cult classic hits like, you’re so last summer & “cute” without the E to playing their more recent hits like “Better Homes and Gardens & Tidal Wave the crowd along with myself couldn’t help but match every lyric being matched.

Finally, it was the time that Coheed and Cambria were set to take the stage– entering the stage to a pitch black Amphitheater, the band picked up right where Taking Buck Sunday left off with the energy. Opening their set with “The Dark Sentencer” off their latest album Vaxis Act 1: The Unheavenly Creatures.  Then they proceeded to power through their classic hits “Here We Are Juggernaut” and “Devil In Jersey City“. Next up was “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3” which was absolutely incredible- with everyone in the amphitheater vocalizing the melody it was truly something special. Followed by “A Favor House Atlantic” and “Ten Speed (of God’s Blood and Burial)”, “The Suffering” and  “Wake Up“. Coheed then played their newest single “Unheavenly Creatures” before closing out with their all-mighty anthem, “Coming Home”.
