Landon Tewers, well known for his role as the vocalist of The Plot in You, recently just finished his solo tour with support from Hotel Books and Ky Rogers. The tour ended at The Loving Touch in Ferndale, MI with additional support from local acts Desires and Better Thoughts.

Melodic hardcore band Desires opened shortly after doors. The band recently released their single “Crux” with We Are Triumph Records (Cemetery Drive, Vegas Lights). In addition to the single, the band included the live debut of “Whatever (It’s 2009)”.

Better Thoughts, a pop punk band from Troy, MI concluded the local support. The three piece band included their most recent single “Scream” in their set. Their upbeat sound was a change of pace for the bill, but still drew a crowd around the stage.

InVogue Records recently signed artist, Ky Rogers serenaded the crowd with his acoustic set. Rogers humble attitude on stage radiated gratitude for Tewers and the rest of the tour crew.

Rogers performed his first single with InVogue, “You Give Me Life”, explaining that the song is about his love for his career, rather than the misconception of it being about a relationship. Rogers will be touring with Detroit’s own Boys of Fall this October.

Next, Hotel Books took the stage. The spoken word act consisted of Cam Smith joined by Johnathon Sherer. Smith’s emotional lyrics brought a quiet over the crowd, as everyone took in the words.

Smith included “Nicole” in his set, a song about the time when his Grandmother died during the process of InVogue Records “saving him” from a previous label.

Smith ended his set with a simple request for the crowd; to stay alive.

Tewers opened his set with “Sick Obsession” off of his 2016 album Dynamite. He was joined by drummer Devin Attard (The Illustrator) and Myles Carter (Telegraf).

In addition to songs from Dynamite like “Do What I Gotta Do”, he included his most recent song, “Give You Something Too”.

His powerful vocals in combination with the sensual, and at times dark lyrics gave Tewers a powerful on stage presence. This was especially true during “Ma and Pa”, off of his 2014 EP Dead Kid. To end the night, he closed his set with an acoustic version of “Cum Captain”.

Tewers will be on tour this fall with The Plot In You on two separate tours, in support of The Amity Affliction in the U.K. and Underoath here in the U.S. Dates can be found here.
