Grace Vanderwaal packed St. Andrews Hall here in Detroit for her Ur So Beautiful tour with special guest Patrick Martin.

Vanderwaal created an atmosphere that was not only entertaining and welcoming, but encouraging and breathtaking for her audience. While most of her crowd was younger girls, she performed with such grace and energy that created a look of awe in their eyes.

She opened her set with the tours namesake, “Ur So Beautiful,” one of her lead singles of this year.

Vanderwaal is only 15 years old, but performs with the maturity and skill higher than those decades older than her. Her vocals are captivating and harmonious. She carries herself with confidence on stage, dancing along to her music full of smiles.

Fans screamed as she broke into “Escape My Mind” off of her debut album Just the Beginning. Other songs included from the album were “City Song” “Florets” “I Don’t Know My Name” “Moonlight” “So Much More Than This” and “Talk Good.”

This was truly only the start as the young performer covered Billy Joels “Vienna” and Rex Orange County’s “Best Friend.”

Vanderwaal closed her set with her most recent single, “Waste My Time.”

Opening act Patrick Martin gave no hint that it was his first tour until revealing it on stage. His energy and interaction with the crowd was that of a seasoned pro.

Martin opened his set with “Miss You More.” He performed fan favorites such as “Cinema Club” and “Stranger Nights” as well as an unreleased song titled “Both of You” set to release September 20.

After closing with “Wonder Years” Martin greeted fans at the barrier, giving them free t-shirts and taking selfies. His humble personality was contagious, and spread smiles across the faces of all that encountered him.
