Chances are if you are in any way familiar with the rock genre, you are very familiar with Papa Roach. The band is most known for their hit single “Last Resort,” however recently released Who Do You Trust? their tenth studio album.

The release of the milestone body of work shows that while time has passed – the bands nu-metal sound has not. Now, this is not the same sound that Papa Roach made their label debut with in 2000.

“We wanted a new chapter in our career,” says vocalist Jacoby Shaddix in a press release. “We wanted to carve a new path, be ‘Papa Roach,’ true to form.”

In celebration of the album, the band took off on tour this summer with support from Asking Alexandria and Bad Wolves (not pictured).

Bad Wolves released their debut album Disobey last year, and have quickly risen to the rock scene with their cover of The Cranberries “Zombie.”

While their set included mostly songs off the album, the crowd all sang along with vocalist Tommy Vext as he brought the late Dolores O’Riordans lyrics to life during the closing song.

Next, Asking Alexandria took the stage opening with “The Violence” – the bands most recent single. Their set included songs off of their self titled album, the first release after the return of vocalist Danny Worsnop.

Luckily, the band included old favorites from their 2013 work From Death to Destiny like “Run Free” and “The Death of Me.”

Finally, Papa Roach took the stage with Shaddix full of emotion and enthusiasm – sticking his tongue out and throwing smiles to the crowd, opening with “Who Do You Trust?”

The energy that this band has on stage is near indescribable. It makes sense why so many long time fans with trip over each other to be in the front row – not missing a single show. The band frequently reaches the barrier – interacting with dedicated fans.

“Getting Away with Murder” brought out the loudest chorus from the crowd early on in the evening. Shaddix barely had to sing himself because every member of the crowd was singing right on queue.

After a nod to Detroit with a sample of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” – the band kicked into “Broken Home.” Afterwords, the band surprised fans with a cover of The Prodigy’s “Firestarter.”

Papa Roach played an impressive 17 song set including a two song encore of “Last Resort” and “…To Be Loved.”
