Chicago’s Bottom Lounge sold out the day of the show for The Devil Wears Prada with Norma Jean and Gideon this month.
With this packed house, Gideon (not pictured) opened the evening, playing songs off their new album Out of Control which dropped early October.
Songs like “BITE DOWN”, “2 CLOSE”, and “STYLE” were notable performances from the new release. The band also included older hit songs like “Cursed” from their 2017 album Cold.
Up next was Norma Jean who also released a new album this fall. All Hail marks the bands tenth studio album. Keeping the crowd moving after Gideon, they also played songs from their 2016 album, Polar Similar as well as off their 2013 album Wrongdoers.
With all bands on the bill releasing new music this fall, fans were eager to hear the new tracks from The Devil Wears Prada’s latest album, The Act. This wish was granted as the band opened with “Switchblade.”
The venue was packed with people moshing away as the band played songs like “” and “Chemical.” Surprisingly, the band only included a small handful of tracks from the new album. The set included a majority of previous work like “Assistant to the Regional Manager”, “Danger: Wildman” “Dez Moines” from With Roots Above and Branches Below.
A nice surprise for fans was when the band covered Foo Fighters’ “All My Life.” This caused the crowd to go nuts, with people crowd surfing their way to the front of the stage.
The impressive 17 song set was concluded with an encore of “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?”
