The third Ten Year Fanfare was packed with friends and family alike to celebrate the ten year anniversary of albums that shaped their lives.

Dylan Dulberg and Halie Butki gathered a talented group of local artists. Each band brought their own unique twist to the original music.

While this years line up was smaller, it faired well for those who didn’t want to miss a set. There was no overlap in set times, which allowed fans to avoid making a choice between who to see.

Lance McQuesten opened this evening with his acoustic covers of songs from Bon Iver’s Blood Bank. In addition to covers from that album, he sprinkled in a couple Mumford & Sons tracks off of Sigh No More including “White Blank Page.”

Upstairs in the Pike Room, George Aneed and company covered Three Days Grace’s Life Starts Now. The room was packed with those ready to relive their dad rock favorites like “World So Cold.”

Kelly Clarkston released one of her most popular albums, All I Ever Wanted in 2009. The Pretty Okay did a damn good job covering it. Vocalist Maggie LaVictoire accompanied by Ed Birch (drums), Brad Ringl (bass), Logan Ward (guitar) and Matt Hummel (guitar) perfectly executed pop hits such as “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Already Gone.”

The Old Haunt (consisting of members of Blank Slate, Green and Alive and Dethrone the Deceiver and more) covered The Deer Hunter’s Act III: Life and Death. Hannah Boissonneault of Blank Slate danced along as she sang. Their cover of “Go Get Your Gun” had everyone singing along.

One of the most anticipated sets of the evening was At the Hands of Victims cover of Suicide Silence’s No Time to Bleed. Vocalist Eric Cudnik mimicked the late Mitch Lucker’s vocals with high energy. This was easily one of the heaviest sets of the evening.

Celestials covered The Devil Wears Prada’s With Roots Above and Branches Below in the ballroom. The crowd fed off of the energy of the band, opening some of the rowdiest pits of the evening.

Kristin LeAnnĂ©, known as I. covered Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster. With hit pop songs like “Bad Romance,” LeAnnĂ© had everyone in the room dancing along. Her powerful vocals paired with her captivating energy onstage created a great rendition of Gaga’s work.

Tomorrow, the World covered Paramore’s Brand New Eyes. The band opened their set with “Ignorance”. Vocalist Ashley Beaver carried herself with confidence as the band followed with “Brick by Boring Brick.”

If a band is going to cover Paramore, it would be incomplete without a performance of “Misery Business.” The crowd sang almost every word along with Beaver as they closed their set.

Upstairs, Blind Season‘s cover of Breaking Benjamin’s Dear Agony brought everyone back to 2009. After opening with “Fade Away,” vocalist Jeffery Mullins commented on how this album brought him back to his RuneScape days. Their set included songs like “Dear Agony” and “Diary of Jane.”

Finally, the long awaited headliner Boys of Fall covered A Day to Remember’s Homesick. As a band that started off in the post hardcore genre, they were able to carry the sound of “Downfall of Us All” and “I’m Made of Wax Larry” well. The band slowed it down for “If It Means a Lot to You” and closed their set with “Mr. Highways Thinking About the End.”

However, this might not be the last of the 2009 covers. Dulberg has been teasing a Fanfare part two on Facebook. You can vote for what you would like to see covered here.
