Warped Tour is over and summer long rock festivals are up for grabs

The end of Vans Warped Tour was bittersweet; the final cross country run of the tour last summer was full of nostalgia and excitement. With this summer wide open, a handful of summer long rock music festivals are beginning to pop up.

The first of which was Sad Summer Festival, headlined by The Maine alongside Mayday Parade, State Champs, and The Wonder Years.

“What could be better than being emo with your best friends in the sweet summer sun?” said John O’Callaghan (The Maine) in a press release. “Being emotional with your friends in the sweet summer sun at the Sad Summer Festival, that’s what. Ditch the cold hot dogs and fucked up sunburns and join The Maine, Mayday Parade, State Champs, and so many more all summer ’19 long!”

Special guests for the festival include Mom Jeans, Stand Atlantic, L.I.F.T. and Just Friends, plus additional special guests Every Avenue, Four Year Strong, Set It Off, Forever The Sickest Kids and Emo Nite on select dates.

The 17 city run begins in Dallas, TX on July 5th and continues through August 3rd in Anaheim, CA. Tickets and lineup information can be found here.

This morning, Rockstar Energy announced their summer long festival, Disrupt festival. The festivals headliners include The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive and Sum 41 alongside The Story So Far, Atreyu and Sleeping with Sirens.

“A new music festival experience,” the website states. “Featuring some of the biggest names in rock, as well as the genre’s rising stars, The Rockstar Energy Disrupt Festival is the Summer’s premiere touring Festival. Fans throughout the United States and Canada will be immersed into a full-day interactive experience where they will not only be able to hear some of their favorite bands, but will also be exposed to the latest in lifestyle brands and pop-up activations. Unlike most other festivals, there will only be one band performing at a time, avoiding conflicting set times and allowing fans to experience the full lineup in one rock-filled day.”

Disrupt kicks off in Dallas, TX on June 21 and continues until Jul 28 in Albuquerque, NM. Tickets go on sale 10AM on Friday. Visit their site here for info on VIP upgrades and dates.
